CUTCORTEX / COMPATIBILITY

Fit your workflow. Verify it with your data.

CutCortex file formats: .textil.json, PDF output, SVG, ASCII-DXF, ABL and limited PatternSmith projects. Check import, export and limitations.

Open, edit and exchange files

Keep .textil.json as your complete working format. Import a copy of the source file and check units, reference dimensions, outlines and material width before using it.

File formats in the current desktop candidate

PDF · 1:1

Template and marker output

Export individual parts or placed markers as A4/A3 tiles or a single page at actual size. Includes alignment marks, page numbers and a 100 mm reference line.

Limits: Output only, not project import. Print at 100% without fit-to-page and measure the reference line. Digital geometry has been checked; this does not establish general printer or machine approval.

.textil.json

Open, save

Working format for projects, editable geometry, materials and saved markers.

Limits: Use this format to continue editing. SVG, DXF and .project do not replace a complete project copy.

SVG

Import, export, marker export

2D lines, polylines, rectangles, circles, ellipses, arcs, cubic Bézier paths and simple text. Output in millimetres.

Limits: Geometry exchange: images, masks, filters and Q/S/T path commands are unsupported. Text styling is not fully retained. Some curves are approximated; stroke text becomes outlines on export.

ASCII-DXF

Import, export, marker export

2D lines, polylines, circles, arcs, ellipses, simple text and points. AC1015 export in millimetres.

Limits: No binary DXF, DWG or 3D. Blocks/INSERT, SPLINE and MTEXT are rejected. Explode blocks first and convert splines to polylines if needed. Groups, quantities and project metadata are not fully transferred.

ABL

Import

AB-Verifier measurement pairs produce a closed outline with a reference baseline. Units: inch, feet, feetinch and meters.

Limits: No image or camera capture. Native material and nest objects are not transferred; check material width after import. The source file remains unchanged.

PatternSmith .project

Limited import and experimental export

Converts supported geometry profiles into a CutCortex project. Then save your working copy as .textil.json.

Limits: Not full PatternSmith compatibility. General project metadata, saved nests and further seam/notch variants are limited. Unsupported content is rejected; retain your original files.

An export is output, not a project backup

Save your .textil.json project first. Drawing export can convert text and curves to outlines, losing some editable parameters and project information. The application rejects unsupported combinations before replacing the destination file. Use Export Nest for placed copies. Open the output in the target software and check a known reference dimension.

Cutters, plotters and cameras

No specific device profiles are approved for this version. SVG or DXF export does not establish direct machine control. Check the output in your device vendor’s software and carry out a controlled test before production. PDF, AI, DWG and image files are not among the offered project imports.
