Covers as a connected system

Seats, backs, sides and piping form one cover. Changing an edge can affect adjacent pieces. Digital patterns help you manage those relationships and retain them for future variants.

Make material direction visible

Pile, pattern repeats and texture affect the finished furniture. Mark the direction of all visible pieces. A compact marker is only useful when it preserves the intended appearance and construction.

Example: a cushion in several widths

Create a reference variant and check how the top, bottom and boxing strip join. A new width must preserve matching seam lengths. Release the variant for production after making a sample cover.

  • Compare joining edges and notches
  • Group visible pieces by material direction
  • Check a sample cover before series release
